Soundproof Fencing

Hi! I'm bidding on a 2 acre property that backs a busy road and was thinking about some kind of sound proof fencing just on side that backs the road. Does anyone have experience with this? Material suggestions? Does this work?

Fence will be 9 feet because there's a big bank that raises ground higher and that 9 feet would block the visual of the cars.

Really really need experiences and suggestions.

Help! Is this ridiculous to think it would help?
