I've learned plenty on these forums (thank you). Out of personal experience I've also learned to not over protect and over feed my trees in the last two years.

Our Central FL weather has been good to us here in Orlando for the past few years which allowed me to continue pruning my trees throughout spring and into late summer (3 major prunes).

I wanted to share my experience for anything Mango tree owners out there.

2014 I bought my Carrie Mango trees in the summer. I didn't bother planting them til October of that same year. I protected them from mid to high 30* weather for the first year. The 2nd year I did the same 2015->2016 but ended up scorching some of the top. I decided to not do that again unless Temps really reach low 30s into the 20s.

2015 to mid 2016 the trees slowly started gaining confidence in growth as I fertilized them with 10-4-12 and some moderate pruning (twice each year). Baby comes Sept 2016 and I don't pay much attention to them and just let the FL rains and heat do their job.

2017 I don't pay much attention to it as I have a 4-12 month old kid (she's about to be 1 in Sept). 2017, the trees (ranging from 2-4 years old) really really respond well to the pruning I started back in May. Just finished my 4th aggressive pruning of the year.
