We are really struggling on where to stop the backsplash with our hood.

I have attached a picture of our drawings as well so you can see better, but there is a space between the cabinets and hood, so I think it looks strange to stop it under the hood. Since our cabinets do not touch the ceiling, we can't really extend to the ceiling either.

Thoughts on what would look best? And not like a second thought?
