My thoughts are with all who are in the path of Irma and Jose. I can not imagine the horror of living through not just one but two terrible storms in a row.

My friend Kelly and her family are down there (Kissimmee, near Orlando).

They are sticking it out. Boarded up windows, nothing outside etc.

They were going to drive north but things were already booked up.

She going to keep me posted as long as there is cell service.

George, isn't she out of the storm surge zone? That would be a much better situation wouldn't it.

Enduring...no storm surge for that area, just wind and rain concern.

georgect, tell Kelly she has people pulling for her. I pray they are all safe. We get some pretty bad ones here in NC but nothing like that. Wish I could reach out and hug them all.

I live in Houston and just went through the nightmare of Harvey. Wouldn't wish it on anyone. Wishing all of Florida the best.

I've been sending good thoughts to our TX and FL members too. I've been out of town for a while and hoped everyone affected would be safe and damage would be kept to a minimum. Let's hope this is the end of super storms for a while...please.

My friend Kelly came out very well. No loss in power, internet, TV or cell service.

Her street is flooded but passable and no damage to her home or automobiles.

Well----no one asked about me specifically but yes, we made it. No power for 4 days. 90 degrees inside the house, we ended up having to leave and stay with different friends and one night, a hotel that was on a generator. I got power back late last night, we are back home, relieved. This would be my 3rd major hurricane but my 1st category 4 in hot weather w power loss--it's unbearable and I now realize I was not as prepared as I thought I was and have a list of things to buy. But we still have our lives and a house to go back to, and I'm thankful. It could have been so so much worse.
