What in the world did he do! What a mess....the grout is way to wide and the color does not match the marble and it is so messy...do not pay him!! This needs to be redone!

Awful, awful grout job! Do not give the final payment, that work needs to be redone.

That is a disaster, do not pay and find a real professional to fix it!

This is terrible. Find someone else to fix this and if cost more than you've already paid him...take him to court to get reimbursed.

That's horrible and needs to be re-done by someone who knows what he's doing!

Not only is the grout a mess but there appears to be cracks or scratches. Was this tile on sheets with mess backing. If so, where did you purchase them? That is at least part of your problem I believe. No excuse for grout job, but you probably need different choice of flooring tile as well. The sooner you get this out the better. If you want this person back, don't touch it. Take more photos for your records. Did he seal your wet areas? That could be problem too! For sure don't give him any more money.

it's a poor grouting job. I realize you're only zeroing in on one spot, but he's removed too much of the grout and did not smooth it out. There shouldn't be large divots, but rather the grout should be level w/the tile. Is it just this one spot? Can you take a pic of the entire basketweave area?

I've laid basketweave tile and have grouted it, so I know how difficult it is. It takes extra time to wipe the excess around those little squares.

if you zoom on on these you can see they are both wiped cleanly around the dots, and the grout is pretty level w/the tiles.

you have polished marble. it's going to show every teeny scratch. I always advise people to do a honed finish if they choose marble,,,especially for the flooring. What is that marble anyway? Don't tell me it's carrara?

The tile is carrara marble. And I'm familiar with all of the pit falls that come with that and I'm okay with that. My concern at this point is grout job. Below is a picture of what the overall tile looks like....and for the most part is fine. It's just the one area that we are having issues with. My real question/fear is that if we ask them to fix this is it going to end up looking worse? How does one go about fixing this?
