1. How is the Epoxy floor applied?

- Any concrete imperfections (large cracks) are filled and ground smooth. Then a primer is rolled over the entire area. Once primer is dry, then a base color is rolled on (in this picture the base color is the dark grey). Next a high solids epoxy is mixed with color shifting metallic dust (the light grey) and then poured and squeegeed over the surface. The color shifting dust takes on a life of its own and provides a look that is completely custom and cannot be exactly duplicated. Once the epoxy is dry, it is covered with a urethane top coat that is rated for airplane hangers, so it is impervious to water, oils, fuels, etc., if it can hold up to that environment, it can hold up to household cleaners and daily residential living.

2. How is the epoxy floor different from concrete?

- I assume by "different from concrete" you mean concrete staining. With this 4 part epoxy/urethane flooring system, the concrete is no longer visible and serves as a canvas. With concrete staining, the concrete and imperfections are still visible and the characteristics of the stain are affected by the properties of the concrete i.e different concrete batches and finish techniques will accept the staining differently.
