I tend to think of rustic as wood cabinets n not really white (unless u r stuck with original white cabinets n don't want to redo the entire kitchen).

Id say u definitely need to incorporate wood somewhere if u can't change what's already there, but I think u already know that..

With the "too white" look you might need to think about a runner rug in the kitchen and some flowers and lemons and other decor pieces like art to bring in some color.
