Which lamp does the title of your post refer to? Is the 3rd pic your room (I see the glass bubble base lamp)?

I think your lamps are just not substantial enough to stand up against that very tall rustic headboard. I tried looking on houzz for inspiration photos to see what they used for lamps with similar headboards, but there really are none shown similar to yours. But I did find some similar sized ones, some dark, one painted white, that show lamps that are more "beefy". I also see lots of pillows piled up against those large headboards, which will diminish the tallness of it somewhat and perhaps help with lamp sizing. Also the first two show pictures above the bed, which might help make the headboard and lamps a more cohesive wall arrangement. I also like the darker walls with the darker headboards in the last 2 pics. Hope this helps.

And cawaps, yes, third pic is my room. New lamp is the one on the left. It will be returned.

Maybe while trying to style this room, since the yellow striped bedspread isn't going to stay, I'd remove it (for pictures and when you are trying lamps) because it makes such a bold statement. Maybe put a light color sheet on the bed to mimic more closely the new bed cover you'll have.

I didn't post it, but I also saw a pic (I'll never find it now) of a tall, bold headboard that had two matching (but not identical, but identically framed) pieces of art over the end tables, then used minimal pharmacy style lamps - obviously for reading in bed. You could barely notice the lamps ( they weren't really small, but just thin) and the art stood up to the headboard very well. Something like that might work, if you have adequate room lighting elsewhere. I'll give it a whirl to try to find it.

This isn't the pic I was looking for, and the whole feeling of the room is different, but it's kind of the idea of what I saw.....

I was thinking of pics above the nightstands but lamps get in the way and I want to tie the pics into the nightstands iykwim...so thin lamps are a nice idea, our lighting isn't super in the rest of the room. 1 tiny wall light, and the ceiling fan light if we really need brightness!

Lamps on order (22" base and 8" shade so is taller than existing light) andbolder. And light. So much darkness with the nightstands and headboard and floor)
