• As requested I am sending a photo of my kitchen. I do not know what I was thinking when I chose the floor tile, please help me choose paint color for the walls and back splash ,counter top. I am leaning towards soapstone for the counter tops, what help can you provide for me? I am totally clueless, pls help. MaryAnn
  

Forgot to say I have an appt on Sept 30th to order add-ons for the lt and rt side of stove in order to get a wider stove by 6 inches and I re-configured the layout of the kitchen and place the cabinets on the side of the refrig.MaryAnn

You can't make your stove 6 inches wider without also replacing the upper cabinets (which you can't return, since they've been installed) -- if the cabinets overhang the stove, it creates a fire hazard.

Stick with the current plan. I don't know what's given you a sudden desire for a larger range, but maybe you can feed it a nice 5-burner range at the same 30 inches instead. Otherwise you're rebuilding your entire kitchen for this whim.

I am hanging the cabinets over the stove elsewhere and ordering smaller cabinets to make room for a 42 in vent.

Can you help w/ selection for the counter top and wall and ceiling paint color?

bring that photo with you to Home Depot and show them they have the proper measurements for your kitchen and will advise you if you can or not . The floor tiles are very nice ,once you have everything in place it will take one a different look ,painting the walls is no problem we all change our taste with colours after a while .

I'd pick a light tone from your flooring and do the walls that color, to help pull things together and give a little contrast from the cabinets. Hard to advise on counters, as they are usually picked in conjunction with cabinets and flooring. Silestone (I think) has a medium gray quartz with a soapstone look -- fine white veining -- that might look nice here. I'd be sure to bring home samples of any grays you consider, to be sure they're in the same tonal family as your floors.

To ACM, should I leave the ceiling color as is?

I would paint the ceiling the same color as the walls, for simplicity. Current color seems too dark, unless you have a really dramatic design in mind.

Looks like you already have some cabinet handles. Do you not like your choice? It feels like you're just sort of freaking out about every aspect of the design!
