Thanks for providing the width of your island. That number is really important in figuring the right size of pendants to go above it! Take that width in inches (36) and subtract 12 (24). Now you have an ideal maximum size for the width or diameter of a light to go over it. Note that fixtures with complex or busy designs may appear larger than they actually are, so if something with an intricate design is catching your eye, maybe scale that maximum width of 24" down a little bit.

We recommend placing lights about two feet apart over an island. For your 4-foot long island, you could definitely do two pendants.

Do you already have in mind which lighting you are using? I'm pretty sure Lights Online is right but what if its the long thin ones lights online
