My sister is purchasing a home and needs suggestions for furniture placement and style in the living room and backsplash color and style in the kitchen. The entire house excluding the kitchen will be painted a tan color with a slightly darker color for the accent wall in the living room. Also, all floors excluding the laundry room will be covered in wood style laminate flooring. Any suggestions will be welcome and appreciated. Thanks.

The LR layout can’t really be seen from the posted pics. Is it possible to see a view with all 4 walls and a floor plan? Also, what furniture does she have that needs to fit? And for the kitchen, does she want subway tile, glass mosaic, etc? Really need an idea of her style

also, is she having an accent wall because she feels she must have one? noone is doing that anymore. so unless you love it, don't bother. is this the new house or the old? are these hers or their things?

I'm going to re-post some pictures when I can take them myself. The furniture in these pictures belong to the seller. Probably will be a while since my husband is very sick and the house is in another state. Thanks to everyone who tried to help. These are the only pictures available right now.

Since I don't know much about what your sister has, or what she likes, the only thing I think I would do is change out the refrigerator to a counter depth one to keep from sticking out so far. Good luck. Come back and post a delima when she gets in the house with her things.
