Best place for TV in bedroom

While the bedroom is not my first choice for a TV if I'd like to watch anything but football for the next 4 months I have zero options.

Bedroom is 13.5×13.5. I picked up a 50' this am. I wanted to mount in in the upper ledt corner where the cable and plug in are with one of those fancy articulating wall mounted holders. I just don't want the t.v. to be the focus of the room. We were looking at a 40" but thought maybe with the distance might be a bit on the small side.

What do you think regarding placement in the upper left corner?

Do you plan to put something else on that wall along with the TV? A dresser, console, etc? I think the TV alone up there will do nothing but draw attention. But if it can be worked into an overall arrangement of some kind, it might be better. These examples are modern than I'm sure you're looking for, but are along the lines of what I'm talking about.

Or, become a football fan (that's what I did many years ago -- I now know more about it than DH does(!))

I would definitely use a console or buffet under it or it will look a bit odd just floating. I would start with the bottom piece and then decide how high/low or left/right to hang it.

Lol! We've been married 12 years and we've only added a kid to the mix that also loves football! It's usually my laundry/work out/shopping day but would be nice to catch up on Grey's!

The bedroom is not large and we weren't planning on putting another piece of furniture there. We have a king sized bed and a bench at the end of the bed for the dog to jump.

But I do see what you are saying about it drawing attention to the corner.

We have a new duvet cover yet to be put on. We'll see how that goes.

I know all about escaping from the sounds of a football game. I did just learn what a sack is after all these years of hearing it in the background.

We have a 40" Samsung and I've never felt the need to go bigger. We sit 9' away from the screen.

Mayflowers, I'd be about 12-13 ft away. We could always put the tv in the basement if we ever develop it too I guess. But we'd prob want bigger. We have 65" tv in the living room 16×16)

Maybe you could find something really skinny like the depth of that small table to the left of the door.

Looks like that may have to happen aktillery! Would a tealy blue look ok to go with the curtains? I'll put the new bedpread on....it's lineny greyish

When furniture shopping, saw a room display with a wall like this and did not notice the TV right away. Very effective.

Maybe a 40" should be the way to go. A bit smaller. I'm sure I'll still see it lol!

I like the console pic I posted and mdln's 1st photo.

Anybody want to come down and do this for me ;)

Heck, I have a 19" TV all the way across a 21' room and I can see it well enough. I'd go smaller and find something to go under the TV that is narrow. Could you build bookcases on that wall, with a slot for the TV? Bookcases need be no wider than 8-10" and that would bring that wall into the room.

I think your right Anglophilia and Mayflowers, smaller. With some art and a shallow consule table or something to ground it all.
