All I see are mocha colored sofas in terms of color....so you must be starting fresh.
It looks like you have an older home with a built in architectural detail along the top part of the wall....I suggest an eggshell finish for a soft gleam or if you really want to be able to touch up the walls occasionally, the new matte finish by Valspar Signature from Lowes is really nice, not shiny and that would keep the tones in check if you put more color on the walls. Ok, now for the color....I think using the painting/picture at the far end of the room for inspiration would be a start...if you are keeping it...I see in the painting, from a distance, some of the colors you are talking about....if you decide to go with any kind of orange on the walls, it should be a soft earthy color, but not muddy, not loud or bright, that is my opinion., and not peachy. It may be interesting to paint all the walls in the orangish color up to the 1st skinny molding on the walls.....then, use a soft butter yellow,,,,more creamy butter then real yellow and paint the molding and on up the top part of the wall and across the ceiling in the same color,,,,in the same eggshell or matte finish...and the trim around the windows to be the same butter color. Keeping the top section and ceiling light in tone and the same color would lift the ceiling height and keep it open looking while the walls in the room would be warmer, cozy. I would incorporate an area rug to pull in the orange tones, yellows, browns and reds.......It would be good to find a rug with a big, geometric, contemporary pattern in those colors........or maybe a shag area rug with a combination of all or some of the colors...if possible.......these are my first thoughts........

Oh,,,and for the windows, the same butter yellow in tall simple fabric , like a raw silk or linen panels with an interesting darker rod installed high for more length.
