Are you quilting this weekend? Oct.20-22

Hello Quilters! I enjoyed seeing the pictures from the retreat last week. That looks like so much fun!

I have been working on some kits that I bought years ago. I found two kits from Connecting Threads that I don't remember buying. I cut out one of them last weekend and started sewing another kit that I started before we moved here 3 years ago. It is "Smooth Sailing" by Kaye England made up of 12 small sailboat blocks surrounded by pineapple blocks. I finished putting the borders on it on Wednesday. I also ordered wide backing for 4 quilts. That fabric is supposed to arrive on Friday. I would really like to get a quilt loaded on the frame this weekend.

I'm not sure how much time I will have for quilting this weekend. We are going to visit DS and his family and to see their new home. DH just informed me he isn't feeling well, so I hope that he's better by Saturday.

Are you sewing or quilting this weekend?

Tomorrow my handbell choir is performing at a big music festival downtown, so that will take up a lot of the day. :)

I have a large log cabin top my mom pieced that I plan to load on the frame Sunday.

I have some fabric set aside for a pattern I got from RJR Fabrics but I doubt I'll start cutting it this weekend, just not feeling it yet. I also deboned 8 of DH's work shirts but have no idea what to do with them yet. Since they have the company logo on them I didn't see any use in donating them to charity. I suppose I could make a quilt with it. Maybe use one of the sections with the company logo in a center patch??

We are leaving for Arizona tomorrow, but I am packed, so I am hoping to sandwich and quilt a little Halloween wall hanging. I bought a panel at Mary Jo's on my way to retreat and cut it apart and added some stuff to it. I am hoping to get it done to give to DS & DIL for our granddaughter. If I don't get it done, I will at least get a start on it! We are heading out to celebrate MIL's 93rd birthday next week, but will be back Thursday.

I have two trail run quilts to get quilted before Nov 3rd, so I will be quilting this weekend. The first is in the frame and I hope to finish it this afternoon. I have a tee shirt quilt to finish for them also, but this year's shirt isn't in yet. That will be a rush job.

I got elastic in the 5 pairs of flannel pjs I made at retreat so the girls could pick which to take to a sleepover at Grandma's tonight. When I actually checked the mail, I had the extra yardage I ordered from Jinny Beyer so I can cut more blocks for the quilt I started at retreat. With 1/2 the kids at home, I might be able to make up the rest of the blocks I need, and maybe get them together...

I had a quilting marathon on Friday. Saturday & Sunday a.m. out of town to visit DD who had an appendectomy Thursday. Home now and plan on quilting the rest of the day. Moussa heads back to Africa on Nov. 8, so trying to finish the two UFO's. And of course, I cut out another one before those were even finished. Whan to do the Lotto blocks this afternoon, too.
