Mutant corn?

Hi. Found a corn plant like the picture shows. It's grown in organic way and from organic seeds. Anyone have an idea what it could have happened? Thanks!

Nothing unusual. That is corn smut. http://vegetablemdonline.ppath.cornell.edu/factsheets/Corn_Smut.htm

Quite edible and considered a delicacy in Mexico. http://www.nbcnews.com/id/36799184/ns/health-diet_and_nutrition/t/corn-smut-tastes-great-good-you-too/
