Staying in bed reading during most of yesterday, a rainy blustery one here!

If I must work (and I must) .., getting the 3 new crackerjack resources I need for my project (1 confirmed, 2 in negotiations)

at home ... freshly washed sheets and a new book on the iPad.

Preheating my bed with my electric blanket and getting into a toasty warm bed. I crank it up and turn it off after I get in. aaah.

An epsom salt soak in my new tub.

Fly day! (my hubby works away) although the electric blanket and new book sound blissful too!

Cooler weather and some time in my soaking tub, then getting into a bed made with clean, ironed sheets.

    People returning emails.

Coming over the bridge to Key Largo, seeing the water all around and feeling my tension melt away

Lying in bed at the end of the day in my cozy bed with a good book to read till I'm sleepy

    Laughing with my students

Getting a call from my daughter just to chat

Somehow butt dialing my pregnant DIL who has been largely out of cell range in Sequoia Nat'l Park since June and hearing "Hello? Hello? Are you there?" from my phone and then being able to yak with her for the next hour. <3

Today's perfect weather in central Florida. Low humidity, cool temp. Cool enough to have Chili or soup for dinner. (I made both.)

sunny, bright, breezy, windows opens - NO AC on! Exciting!

Rain in Maine, where we're in drought in the southern part. One prediction, I think the Euro model, showed 6" possible between now and next Tuesday's storm. Fingers crossed.

d_gw, my bed has turn down service and and a 'warmer' - my boy Riley, who carefully pulls the covers down on my side, then lays on it while I wash up. I come into the bedroom and he moves enough to still stay in contact. It's bliss!

What a fun thread! Bliss for me is the anticipation of retirement in June. Another form of "in the moment bliss" was a long bike ride on the Cape Cod Rail Trail on Sunday with DH. The opposite of bliss was having to drive home to work on Monday! But I grab the moments when I can.

Getting what my kids call midnight hugs before bed, my 5 yr olds morning snuggles.

A few days off while the office is quiet and binge watching a good show. Absolutely loved the fosters and now almost finished with penny dreadful :(

Texanjana. Do you put anything else in the bath? I have been thinking of trying the mag protocol for baths. I think they recommend borax and baking soda with the Epsom salts.

Reuniting with our kitties after a week's holiday... I sure did miss those little guys.

A good juicy burger prepared on the smoker for supper. And one left over for lunch tomorrow! Even better the second day.

A fresh mug of coffee, some chocolate squares, a new crossword puzzle in New York Magazine, and Project Runway.

And - A visit to Seattle and DS1 driving us to our favorite coffee shop in Queen Anne.

And - Any time DS2 phones for a long conversation about everything.

I can't believe I put Project Runway ahead of my children!

First cowl neck sweater of the fall season last night! Looking forward to more sweater weather.

Maddie, I am also in central Florida and I'm FREEZING! Ick. Can't wait for next summer!

Bliss for me is that first step onto the cruise ship...

Friday nights, when the week is over and we’re cuddled up on the sofa watching tv.

Looking deep into the eyes of my big boy kitty as he head butts me to remind me he wants more attention.

Getting a text from DS#1 who is a college freshmen this year saying that he is thinking of me(which may mean he is hungry but I will take what I can get :) )

Being retired and having the time to read, walk, exercise, and to not have to endure the politics that goes on in many workplaces. My new cuddly fleece sheets. Having a grand baby. Having some See's chocolate still sitting in a box in the closet.

2nd tier bliss: Having a dishwasher. Having an electric pizza maker so I can have pizza any time I want.

Being with my great grandson who just turned one, I could eat him up. He's staying over this week end, yippppppeeeee.

Calling the people who are nominees for the library board and having them say YES. What a relief.

Otherwise, taking a nap on my porch when the weather is just right and no one is running a lawn mower or power tool and all the neighborhood kids are in school. Now that is bliss.

What Maddie said...a day of perfect temperature, low to no humidity and light breeze in Florida. I had a blissful day yesterday on my husbands day off. We went for a long bike ride over and around the intercostal and back home. Did a quick wash up and went down the road to sit outside a marina view restaurant for oyster casino, wasabi salmon sushi and wine. Oh, and we were naughty and shared a turtle pie desert. Today is also beautuful and would be a good day to get out and mulch. But do I really want to? Nope.

Early morning trail run with good friends and noticing the changes through the seasons. Today we noticed how bright it was with all the yellow leaves on the trees but pretty soon there will be so many leaves on the trials that we will really have to watch our step among the roots and rocks.

Seeing the sun come up and the beams of light streaming through the trees in the mist - that's what we saw on Tuesday. We are so lucky.

More on being thankful for the recent rain, this morning mist was one of the happy effects.

Walking with my husband, dogs and cat. Dancing to Van Morrison's Moondance song. Swimming in a lake that is just the right temperature.

Being in escrow on a future home.

    Bliss?!

Well....in a warm house on a VERY blustery & chilly (31 deg now....) evening in Fargo! Got some outside jobs done yesterday on my day off when it was nice. DW & DD helped a lot, as my foot is getting a little worse.

Foot surgery next Thursday 11-2. Crimony, that's coming fast! Then.....a "form" of bliss. I'll be able to watch all the Football I want for a month or so!

    Yay?! ;-)

DS getting his dream job, one he never ever imagined possible but dreamed of since college; winning-the-lottery odds of it ever happening but it did!

Daily hikes through our county park.

Sitting in front of our fireplace reading and watching the first snow fall of the season.

Having the freedom to do what I want when I want.

Having my heated mattress pad delivered the same week winter arrived (along with my annual chest infection).

My humble home that escaped the Sonoma County firestorms: my cats, a bed, food, fresh water, heat and power, clothes, photos, keepsakes. My health.

The sun shining at a bit of an angle, casting everything in sharp relief, esp. the leaves turning color but still in abundance on the trees.

    Oh! Can I have another?

Last night, we had a girls' night out. Giggled and laughed and ate and acted silly. We were winding up over dessert, when unexpectedly walks in my DS#2. He comes right over and gives me a hug and chats with my friends. How could that tall, handsome, charming and FINALLY mature man be my baby boy? I love him so much.

do you mind sharing where you got the mattress pad and if you like it.

Hi Lyban. It is a sunbeam, but I can't seem to see which model it is from the bag it came in. It's got 10 heat settings and 10 hour auto shut-off if that helps. Pretty sure I ordered it from Walmart.

It seems great so far, but we got it for our bed at our unheated cottage and since we haven't been out there since it arrived, I haven't actually slept on it. I've just got it laid out on the couch. One thing I noticed in reviews of heated mattress pads, is that people said they could feel the wires on some. Since I haven't slept on this one yet, I'm not sure about that. I do remember that the one I ordered didn't have any reviews that said they could feel the wires. It does give a really nice even heat from top to bottom. HTH.

Having one daughter stop by last night for an impromptu craft night. Having newlywed daughter live only one hour away versus 11 hours last year. Bonus--her and her hubby stopping by for a quick visit on their way to college football game.

Both daughters home for the weekend just for fun. Girl shopping the occasional stores. Finding a piece of furniture that is JUST THE THING you have been looking for for 29 years!! Weekend topped with the usual call from the only son. BLESSED!!!
