I have found no good guidelines for installing a pair of chandeliers. When I ask, people will just say: it depends. Frustrating! I went with two 23" fixtures over a 7' table. (Though I have space to upgrade to a longer table in future.) My lights have an open design. Had I chosen drums, I might have used a slightly smaller diameter. HTH.
