Very nice color on that disanthus. I do enjoy the shift into cooler weather.

Fall is definitely my favorite time of year. But I love that Disanthus all year! It was a plant I agonized about buying because it is a water hog and my water bill is already way too painful. But I'm really happy I bought it. It has really pretty leaves with the bonus of a beautiful blue green color and it's just an overall pretty plant.

Another of my new plants (which I also shouldn't have bought for similar reasons) put on a beautiful yellow show this fall, Cladrastis lutea. It's still a small tree so I'm looking forward to next year's bigger show.

Itea virginica Little Henry always puts on a show in my garden and it lasts until spring when the new leaves push off the old. Love this plant. Disanthus in the background and a dried grass flower from Stipa gigantica making an appearance.

Speaking of grasses, Pennisetum alopecuroides Desert Plains looks pretty but it would have been even prettier if it had given me the pleasure of its flowers this year.
