All depends on how much you want to spend. If you looking for a heavier textured appearance I wouldn't consider a duvet, but a quilt or a coverlet instead

Your photo isn't "fluffy" . It's a tucked in matelasse coverlet. They are two different things. What makes the photo look fluffy is the throw at the end of the bed and the shams and throw pillows.

If you want "fluffy" , get both a quilt or coverlet and a duvet cover, and fold the down filled duvet at the foot of the bed. Add shams and toss pillows.

But I can’t seem to find a pretty ivory duvet. I went to Bloomingdales but everything was either gray, brown or white. Thank you

PB and RH both have duvets, which are playing down inserts, and cream duvet covers.

Thank you all. When I was at Bloomingdales they told me that they double the inserts for the full look. I will do that too if I need to. Once I find a pretty ivory duvet, I’ll get maybe a pale green or blue quilt to layer with it. I need some color since the floors are dark and so is the furniture. Everything is grey and silver these days - and doesn’t match my furniture

Instead of 2 inserts, you can use an insert sized for a larger bed. Use a queen insert for a full duvet, or a king for a queen duvet. That will fill it out more and give a fluffier, loftier look. Also check the insert and duvet sizes. Just because a manufacturer lists a product as a "queen" doesn't mean the size is the same as another "queen." The name can be misleading but the numbers don't lie!

Actually, you just need to buy the most expensive, HIGHEST fill power and fold the duvet in thirds at the foot. Oversized versions of every size and quality.....Company Store.

the very LAST thing you want is a heavy or textured duvet cover,, it will flatten any fill. Keep it LIGHT .......!!!! And more to the weight of sheets. As Annie Selke below.

Thank you, Jan -- I will search for a lightweight duvet. I just wanted it textured to add some fanciness. I love the ivory one you posted - It's very expensive, but I haven't found anything else that has that rich, glam look that I like.

Very pretty. Use ivory for a matelasse coverlet beneath? Just remember IVORY is easy to embellish seasonally ....and inexpensively:) I'd keep the expensive aspect neutral , add accents at will.

Gheeze I love my duvets but man I sure wouldn't want to spend that much on one. Hubby wouldn't even be allowed to sit on the bed

I really never understand why people use flat sheets with a duvet (in a duvet cover). One of the best features of a duvet/duvet cover is that it eliminates the whole sheets-twisting-and-separating business.
A well made duvet in a quality duvet cover is bedding at its finest.
