Would 6 of these chairs work? I know it's a cheap way to go, but I have sat on them and they're actually quite sturdy. The slipcovers would be amazing with my messy kids.

When you hang new curtains consider adding deeper brackets to the rod so that they hang straight. Right now yours look to hang close to the wall at the top and then they have to bloom out to get past the chair rail and trim. You want them to fall straight, so a deeper bracket should do that for you.

As long as the scale is appropriate an the seat height is good on those IKEA chairs. For that price I think you can’t expect them to outlast your children’s growing up years but by then you may want to invest in something else;)!

Deco is quite right about your drapery hardware. If this is store bought they may well be adjustable brackets and you can simply loosen the screw and pull them out to the right length then retighten the screw.

So, I am looking for I orb chandelier? While the crystal looks gorgeous in that photo, I am probably a lot more casual. But now would something like this even give the same effect?

I do like a bit of bling though, so I prefer the first one you posted.

I also like the one with more crystals. Given the style of the table, if you are doing the slipped chairs and do floppy linen drapes I think it's a great juxtaposition. I don't think it would be a lot of bling. You see in the photo you posted with the ocean out the windows with a farm table and slipped chairs. I think it looks beautiful.

If you decide it's a lot of bling for you I would go with the light with no crystals that you posted. The light with the few crystals to me looks like it's, "trying" yet not quite making!

Thanks! Any reccomendations for the walls or curtains? I'm thinking of a couple pictures of my kids with some larger rustic frames maybe but I don't know what wall(s) to choose or how to lay it out. I attempted some white sheers (pay no attention to wrinkles & sloppy hanging job), but it just looks so washed out now. Maybe things on the wall would help that? I'm losing my vision at this point. I still love the table chairs and light, but I can't seem to visualize the rest.

I rather liked your blue and white curtains ; we did discuss how they needed to come out from the wall more so you need to get those extenders. If you keep the white that’s fine but I would add a bit of color. I’m not crazy about personal photos on the wall except in the more private parts of the house such as my bedroom but that’s a personal choice. I added a painting and these decorative mirror squares which could go on any of the walls in here. Hope this helps.

The funny thing is that my husband told me those curtain rods actually do have extenders. We just didn't understand how they were meant to be used! As simple as it is, I hate getting up on a ladder so it is on his to-do list! As for the pictures, I do understand that a lot of people don't like personal pictures throughout the house. I'm the opposite. I LOVE seeing my kids sweet faces everywhere. Others may not think its stylish, but it makes me happy! I was thinking something simple like this (not my child, just an example)

In that case then I would choose my framing wisely and keep the photos to a minimum so as not to create a cluttered look.
