That’s tile.

She didn't think so. It was one solid sheet, felt and sounded plasticy, didn't appear to change product at the grout line. She thought it felt somewhat like our Corian counters . The tile look was what is appealing to her though. Any other thoughts?

It's definitely not tile. I make frequent business trips and typically stay at Hilton properties. I've often seen that material used in their showers and agree it's Corian-like. I'd be interested in more info as well.

I just stayed in a hotel that had this material in the shower as well. It feels very solid like Swanstone or Corian. The surface texture was nice.

Agreed that it's not tile, something corian-ish that's been routed out to look like tile. I've seen it before, but I don't know what it is, either. Looks very easy care.

It is either Swanstone, Syn-Mar or an acrylic type product (provided by companies like Bath Fitters, Luxury Bath). We have been looking to re-do our 2 bathrooms, both have the fiberglass one piece bisque color units, one is a shower stall & the other has a tub. We want the walls to the ceiling which I think gives it a beautiful complete look not mention very easy maintenance, hence no mildew or mold on the sheet rock. A lot to pick from, hard part do want the tile look, the subway tile is very popular or do want more the marble color design look.

What's different about it are the subtle horizontal lines in the material.

Kohler and other designers make shower/bath walls which have patterns and colors.

I ended up finding a web site that had Hilton approved vendors. Unfortunately most of the vendors are to the hospitality, education, commercial industry only. I did find many styles on these companies web pages that looked similar to the style pictured.

The only residential companies listed were Kohler and American Standard. We will keep looking. They went to a local company that does solid surface baths yesterday.

Check out MAXX products. I think they have a full wall product now.

Not Swanstone but a similar product (I've also seen it at Hilton hotels). The only Swanstone tub/shower wall currently available is a grid-laid square tile design.

Swan Corp. has engaged a firm to look for someone to acquire them. If they don't find a buyer they'll probably close down.

Does anyone have more info on this surround?
