everything will need to be the same color, as the base cabinets will be continuous. if you can get cabinets in under that giant front edge...

I agree the backsplash needs to go but you need to continue the counter all the way around the peninsula to be honest I am not sure what is going on in this space . Okay you are in the Emirates where you do things differently than in NA maybe help us to understand what you are thinking but really that backsplash is awful.

Don't touch anything. Explain where you are in the process... what flooring color will be...

With simple flat cabinets, maybe in a varied shade of grey, your backsplash will be fine... well, except that it does 'chop off' at the window.... ?

Not joking -- though so incomplete info and photo -- if you wanted function across bottom at left of window, how about metal holder for what you might really store there.... be creative -

My idea, which I think will be left in the process, is not awful: if your window frames are black already, a low-height functional storage piece [built in] would extend the line of the backsplash....

Anne, if you're still there - this photo and others show less-than-disaster / with side wall backsplash... sort of fitting with other 'lines' of door, etc...

They plan tile with shelf:

If possible tile at left by the counter, for a neat look.... if 'box' at left would be lowered to same height as other side of window's thing.
