is the kitchen a different color? or same as living room. Can't tell with the different lighting

It's a bit darker in the kitchen.

Consider, perhaps, a deeper, less bright red tone paint that complements the flooring and dining furniture, say Benjamin Moore's Deep Poinsettia

Also, the railings give this area a modern feel, which may or may not be what you are going for. Painting them a dark neutral tone to match could lessen their visual effect...

I don't know why you'd want to accent a wall/zone with as many odd shapes and cut-outs as that one! I mean, that first picture just says "here's our closet!!"

Maybe you could do the solid wall behind the couch, which would be a great place to feature some neat wallpaper...

I bought it this way and am trying to figure out the best way to update it, there is no closet in the pictures. It's the entry to the kitchen.

Hello.What other shades can be used if in the main interior is milky color? Optimally would be to look in one combination of color milk green herbal tones, brushed bronze, pale chocolate.

You could do any color with the neutral backdrop that you have.

I love the red in your dining room and red is a great color to have in dining areas (which is why it is often used in restaurants/eateries).

I like the idea of an olive green for the upper level. A framed piece of art up there could also be nice - and perhaps bring in a wood door or finish the door to look like wood.

Red works well with olive green, also - and for another look (and to tie in with red in dining room) you could incorporate some red into your accessories (pillows) and/or maybe artwork on second floor, etc. But you really have the option of doing that - of bringing red in that way, if you wanted to - with just about any neutral shade that you would use. Olive is just one option.

Your instincts are great about red for dining area. And now I understand your space better, as well. At first glance, I thought dining area was in another part of house.

I think if you paint the area around door the same color as your beige wall it will tone down the red, keeping it to dining area - and then bringing in a couple of red accessories downstairs would connect the space.

Along these lines:

You don't necessarily need a lot of red downstairs. In addition to the lamp and pillow, I might add a throw with a touch of red in it, or maybe another pillow or something like that... But you get the general idea.

You probably already know - as far as green types of paint, BM's Natura line is one, and there are others. It's a great place. Love the ''Upper Tier Dining.'' Beautiful furnishings, also... IMO accent walls work best on walls with few other features like doors

I still don't understand how that white door can be to the kitchen. In fact, there are two closed white doors -- a bathroom and a closet, maybe?
