Since 'Lucifer' is a hybrid, I'd be very surprised if it came true from seed. My best Off The Wall guess would be that you'd get something with a "lighter" colored flower than the super bright red-orange of the original Lucifer. (On the other hand, since there is very likely no other Crocosmia around for it to cross with, possibly you would get the original color!)

I've saved seed myself--and plan to try winter sowing it "sometime" just to see what I get, but have never gotten around to trying it yet!

Since Crocosmia spreads "significantly," if you want more plants your best bet would be to just divide some little pieces off of the "edges" of yours and plant them other places.

Since 'Lucifer' is one of the very few "reliably hardy" Crocosmias, if you do want "other colors," at least the ones you get from seed should also be hardy out here, so growing them from seed would give you a potential way of getting more of a variety of colors.

Still hope to try the seed I collected "some day," so if you should decide to try it I'd be very curious about just exactly what you do wind up with! If RMG still exists a couple years down the road when they bloom, come back and let us know what they look like!
