    I hate to be a pain, but if it holds 6 quarts of liquid, then how many quart jars will it hold, also, when shipped, does the outer box state what is on the inside as it is a Christmas present?

    With diameter of 13" I am sure it doesn't hold many quart jars. This appears to be more for cooking than canning. A 7 quart canner that my mom used was at least 18" diameter.
