    Hey Stephany,

    Thanks for your interest in our columns. The columns are hollow, the top flat plate (display top) comes off and you can put additional weight inside to make the column more stable.

    Awesome. I’m looking to actually run some cords from a TV and gaming console through the pillar. I would likely drill (hidden) holes at the top and bottom big enough to string the wires through. I’d set the consoles on the top of the pillar. Do you think that may work? My idea would replace this madness!

    Haha, yes it would work fine. The bottom has an inch and a quarter hole that you can run a grounded plug through. The top has a 5-inch hole and then the display top sits on top. You can cut a notch in the back of the column or in that display top, whichever is less obvious. If you are planning to put a console on top. You might want to drill a hole and put a screw into the wall to make sure the column can't tip forward.
