I'm hoping to do some minor changes to this entryway this week. We are planning to add an arctic entry in the next few years so I'm hoping to freshen up, make it more usable and spend as little money as possible.




Need ideas for:

Paint color for wall with door
door color
Hat/mitten storage (currently in ugly white bins attached to wood half wall)
Paint wood half wall/railing??? (We are replacing in future renovation)

What's staying:
Boot tray
Adding row of hooks low on door wall so kids can hang their own winter gear
Rug
Light fixture

What can go:
Current coat hanging rack
Changing out door trim to medium stained wood, similar to ceiling

The pillow picture is representative of all the colors in the adjacent living room, though not sure I want the entry to have as dark of a vibe as the pillow. All walls in the house are currently white except one accent wall in living room that is similar to the dark background of the pillow. (Dark grey with a hint of blue) Thanks for any ideas!! Especially on paint color.
