Command Center in Kitchen

Hi, I'd love to make a command center in our kitchen. We have a large wall with a ton of space. I was thinking a floating shelf of some sort an then sowmerhe that i can hang calendar, notes and such. Here's a pic of the wall. photos ideas are welcome! Thanks!
