My vote is for two console tables, each with art hanging above. Maybe one large piece over one table, and a collection of smaller ones over the other.

The thing your dining room is lacking is contrast in color. Two medium to dark wood console tables or storage cabinets (for an extra set of china) with large paintings or prints (with color) over them will add contrast and color. I would move the round mirror to another room. This might be the time to retire the chair covers if the chairs are in good shape. They will also add color. You can easily recover the seats or have them done, depending on the cushions.

My vote is nothing. Keep it clean and simple. Have fun - gorgous room!

I l ike the idea of the two consoles. Another suggestion would be four pieces of art- two hung vertically on each side of the fireplace. I would also declutter the mantle. Good luck!

With the height of your ceilings, adding more of anything beside fireplace will visually overwhelm your space. Do remove small items from mantel. Keep it clean. Let Mirror and reflection do the decorating.

That is awesome fig plant. Can you move it more toward a corner? Kind of dominates right now. Or move it to be a divider between dining and room adjoining space. It appears you have good light in the spaces.

The hanging light fixture was not my first choice but free from my sister who was getting rid of it. Down the road i was thinking of getting a new chandelier and maybe get 2 wall scones that compliment it, to put up on either side of the mirror.

I'm leaning toward matching consoles with a nice piece of art above each one. However, I would live without anything for a while and see how you like it. Remove all of the tchotchkes on and around the fireplace. You've got a lovely space.

I would not put anything either side but I would be tempted to wallpaper that whole wall in some sort of a metallic wallpaper, I think it would look stunning
