Counter depth for sure! It blends in so well and looks so much more custom! If you are building and have room for it and a large family, my fav option it a full size fridge and full size freezer put side by side!

Definitely counter especially if your room is laid out so that you are seeing the fridge from the side (as opposed to sometimes you are pretty much always looking at it full on - and even then id still say counter).

Full size fridge. Countertop look nice but often don't have the space you need.

Have to recommend the countertop depth for the seamless aesthetics alone although I would suggest a wider than standard unit (at least 48") to accommodate full storage. Also, the problems of burying items behind others in the back of a full size is eliminated.

Counter-depth, you'll have plenty of room, but if you need more for an occasional party or for large cases of beer and soda, put another less expensive model in the basement or garage. It's always nice to have two.

In terms of extra space we did an undercounter beverage fridge to save space in the "real" fridge.

We are a family of 3 including a 7 year old boy. The counter depth fridge is small. If we didn't have the fridge in the garage right outside it wouldn't work for us. We were hoping to keep the same footprint with our remodel. If we did we would recess a full size into the garage (which is right behind it.) If you are starting from scratch the wider counter depth option sounds ideal! If I go wider I have to change all the cabinets on one wall and I'm not sure yet that I want to go to all that trouble just to get a wider fridge.
