I'm not a great lover of stained cabinets, but I like yours. I'd wait until the backsplash goes in -- perhaps that will help with your decision.

I would not paint them, stained wood cabinets look much better then white.

Hi there, your wood cabinets look beautiful and a bit rustic. With the white countertop, and I am assuming white marble backsplash, it might be nice to leave the cabinets as is and see how you like it so far. If you want to make the kitchen a bit more new, add a few new accessories in white and black. Don't put anything on top of the cabinets. Maybe paint the walls too. Not every kitchen needs to be white.

There’s no right answer here - it depends on what you like! Personally, I love painted cabinetry, so I’d paint them. If you prefer the look of wood, can you refresh the stain, maybe take them a bit darker for a nice contrast with the white countertops? Or maybe leave them as is and just update the cabinet pulls? It’s a beautiful space with many good options!

With the exception of the fridge pull I already tried updating the pulls and knobs. Didn’t make much of a difference which shocked me. Should I go for stainless steel?

I think I agree with leaving them. Adds nice warmth.

Stainless still or brass bars - no knobs. The bars will give them a sleek design spend the money to get good quality.

What if you painted just the center upper cabinets a light grey. Takes just a bit of the heavy wood away. This might be just enough to give it a bit of an edge w your countertop/future backsplash investment...

As a person who has ALWAYS had white cabinets I vote for leaving yours as is. I like them. Don’t paint & don’t even think about doing them gray!

As much as I LOVE white and painted cabinets and have a large kitchen with a ton of white cabinetry, I say leave them. I love my cabinets, but with four kids at home, they are a pain in the butt to keep clean. At least with stained wood, every fingerprint doesn't show. If you did decide to paint, I'd paint the island and leave the perimeter stained.

Nice new handles, why change the backsplash? the veining is large, and the tiles are tiny - isn't it nice in person? Tumbled stone?

I honestly can’t stand the backsplash. It’s dated for us.

What about removing the fridge paneling and making that stainless steel. I think that would of balance the wood.

I have a kitchen full of white cabinetry (my choice), but if I moved into a house with the cabinets you have there, I would never paint them. They’re very attractive cabinets.

With your new quartz counter tops and herringbone back splash (yet to be installed) I prefer the perimeter cabinets of white and island gray blue or keeping wood yet a darker stain for contrast and visual interest. All white cabinets with ceiling a pale blue as in photo left bottom for inspiration. Your wood flooring and bar stools of texture and wood are a nice contrast for the renovated kitchen. I like the beautiful wood. A jazzier backsplash will indeed look nice. I don't see gray for this space. Nice kitchen emma!
