Please help me bring my living room together

Would love some glam looking ideas for an area rug, (not Persian or anything with too much going on) and any other decor that would bring this room together. Thanks!

Before selecting a rug....I'm not quite sure about that layout of your furniture. Can you take pics from the opposite direction? Console seems too close to your chair. Is this a sitting room? Is there a TV in here?

Too lazy to patch the rug in below, please forgive.

Firstly, sorry, but the blinds with the fan thingies are not good. If you need blinds, have plain ones, and definitely hang some beautiful curtains. (And yes I was also too lazy to fix the reflection in the mirror.) Stick with your neutrals, I think.

The ottoman draws too much attention to itself instead of being part of the whole. I think a tray on it could make all the difference.

    Definitely art, bronze frame.

And this is what I think is a perfect rug for the room.

Oh, and PS, I think you should pull the whole chair/couch combination away from both walls. Centre the couch on the window and pull it forward to allow the curtains to drape well, and then place the chairs in relation to it.

    Thanks for feedback
Here’s a view of other side of room. There is no TV in here. I️ hear about the chairs and it’s placement...

Rina, I’m not sure I️ could visualize where the chairs should go. One on each side of couch?

It seems like your furniture is squeezed down to one end of the room and the rest feels so empty. Before purchasing a rug and size (especially), have your tried your couch on the wall and move the console to the opposite bare wall? Play around with the chairs as you have 3 options. I would remove the blinds and add lovely linen drapery instead. Down the road when possible, you could also do with side tables and/or floor lamp on either side of the couch and a large piece of art above (prints similar to the ones below would look great with narrow silver frames). In regards to a style of rug, you may want to look at lots of pictures on Houzz and Pinterest to help get a feel of what you are drawn to and may not have thought of like the rug below.

You have a beautiful living room, and I agree that a rug is needed to complete the look. The ottoman and your decorative pillows give some nice texture, so your rug does not need to be busy or very textured to add a lot to the space. I would suggest a solid colored shag rug to complement the glam style you've put together.

100% wool Solid silver shag rug to match the ottoman, or...

...a white wool shag rug to match the sofa.

A modern Turkish rug would also look beautiful with that furniture.

    Grey Turkish area rug

Or, you could combine the Turkish and shag styles and you get this beautiful piece:

Yes -- but I see now that you don't have a lot of space, so I think the chairs should be brought forward and angled in towards couch.

Good start so far! I would definitely suggest an area rug, end tables, table lamps and more art work/accessories.

Group all the seating around the focal credenza and mirror, and away from the walls. Flanking the window with drapes will do a lot to soften this space. Match them to the walls to visually enlarge the room.
