The 5 to 6ft tall tree on the right is a mango i grew from seed a few years ago.

In January we had 1 night that hit 25F. - The coldest night ive seen here in 10 years.

I thought it was dead, and was deciding what to plant in its place... Good thing i had not made a decision.

In June i looked down, and saw a 6 inch set of 2 leaves that had popped up.

The pic was taken late Nov. - almost 6ft tall.

Usually we dont get temps below 29 or 30, which will burn leaves, and sometimes small twigs and new growth, but, usually doesnt damage the trunk.

I am hoping for 4 to 5 years of no, or light frost, so the tree can grow larger.

I am guessing the reason it grew back so fast, was the roots were not badly damaged.

I have a Jackfruit and a black sapote that did the same thing.

(plant on left is a 2yr old guava BTW) and ignore the vine on the fence.
