Are you quilting this weekend? Dec. 16-17

Hello Quilters! Have you been busy sewing for Christmas this week? I am still working on the quilts for the grandsons. I finished the tops this week and have one of the quilts loaded on the frame. I was hoping to be done with them by now but life intervenes sometimes. We won't be celebrating until Dec. 29th so I have a few extra days to get ready.

I am working on Bonnie's mystery quilt too. I don't have clue 3 finished but it is all started. I also have the strips and squares cut for clue 4. I really have to tell myself to work on things with a deadline before the MQ, but I don't always listen to myself!

Are you sewing or quilting this weekend?

I finished my nine crocheted bookmarks for the exchange and got them in the mail on Wed. Today we took my Mini for its first service, got groceries and did laundry.

Tomorrow I think I’ll get out a large cross stitch project I haven’t worked on in a long time.

I finally finished DD's body pillow case, dresser scarf and dog bed. If I'm smart, that will be all the sewing/quilting I do until after Christmas. Of course, we are always itching to start something new, and I am behind on at least two baby quilts. But I am having a whole lot of family over for an open house on Dec 30, so really need to get caught up around here.

I finished 48 of the string x blocks this week but put them aside until I can find fabric for the background. With everything scattered around the house, I am not sure exactly where it is, one of those bins I know.

work may begin to redo the basement in Jan. Seems like a long time since the flood in Aug. but contractors have been overwhelmed by the 6000+ homes affected. It will be so good to get everything back where it should be. And I can find what I am looking for.

Made 4 mug rugs and 4 coasters of 6. Need to finish before the 24th. - 1st family get together

I finished the 2nd quilt top. Need to make the backings, quilt and bind them. These will be for the 2nd family get together

Fortunately I'll have some more time for the last 2 quilts.

No quilting for me. I am finishing my granddaughter's photo album - only a couple pages to go! She turned one on the 14th and we will be having them over tomorrow night for dinner and I want to give it to her then. I finished the pillowcases I need for Christmas and will just work on cleaning my sewing room. We leave Wednesday for Arizona then Mexico and won't be home until April. We have to pack the RV before then, too! Whew. Of course, DH has a horrible cold so most of the work will fall on me.

Theresa, I hope your basement work gets done soon! We don't realize after an event like a flood or hurricane how long it can take to repair damage. I guess they need to take care of the most urgent cases first, but I know from two weeks w/o a water heater that having your house disrupted is very stressful.

Sue, I hope your hubby feels better soon!

Theresa, feel your pain. We got back last week from the first visit to our island house after Irma ravaged it. For starters, we need all new roofs. The dirt and mildew were unimaginable, and the rats have moved in big time! Normally we would be there all winter, but with leaky roofs and no electricity, only short visits are tolerable.

So I got to spend my birthday here for the first time! Mostly in the sewing room, since you ladies turned me on to Bonnie. Can’t recall the name of the design, but it’s large and I’m getting a little bored, so also started another quilt for St. Jude’s.

Oh, oh, oh. I feel so badly for those who were affected by that storm. Our woes pale in comparison.
