I think a countertop going from the cabinet to the washer would look best/ be the most functional. Your washer and dryer are already flat surfaces that you can put stuff on.

Have you thought about doing shelves instead?

Madeline, yes we were also considering a small shelf across and mid way between window and washer/dryer. I’ve just always liked the look of counter all the way across but it’s too expensive for any counter.. and no countertop you can just purchase as is that’s 30” depth. I was thinking about getting the cheap IKEA tabletop but I have one for my makeup table, brought it into the laundry room to get an idea and it was more of an offwhite, looked so dirty next to the white cabinets.

can you paint the IKEA tabletop? or get one in another color? Are those IKEA cabinets? I like the flexability of no counter over the w/d set in case someone in the future wants to put pedestals under them.

I don’t want to paint anything :( also don’t really want to build anything either. I brought down my table top from ikea. Doesn’t really look that much different in the photo color wise but in person you can see the two tones. The cabinets are from Home Depot. They are the Hampton bay shaker assembled cabinets. I just used the Houzz app to see what the cabinets would look like with handle bars, BLACK OR SILVER??

I like the dark ones out of the 2 you have. Makes a nice contrast with the white and carries the black of the w/d doors. I wonder what a smaller black knob or handle would look like?
