Thank you Julie! Whenever I’ve done custom, someone did the measurements, so I definitely don’t want to make a mistake. You had mentioned 75” width each panel, what about length? Factoring I’m ease of closing? Style of header etc? If I was doing the ready made there would be no worries. When I spoke to CS when I ordered the samples they really had no opinion on which style was easier to close but sort of indicated rings and pins - which I think are terrible. Also the guest bedroom is same (from HPD and heavy) rings and clips very hard to pull across the extension. You sort of have to lift up and pull. Am I stating this correctly?

Maybe do them in grommet...they are very easy to open and close..

That’s the one style I really dislike probably because I see those in target, Kohls Home Depot and all the ready-made’s discount stores. Maybe there’s some drapery people out there that have some other opinions??? Also what height? I always like to the ceiling but if it’s going to make it even harder I don’t know.

Not my fav either..have none in my home but some really like them....the best way for easy of opening and closing is the small rings with the clips..so easy to use no drapery hooks needed...I like to attach a wand on the leading edge to pull them open and closed or you could add a traverse rod...

Great idea - a wand! I wonder will HPD attach one? Or do I purchase separately? So I should go with pole Pack it with back tabs and hook belt correct? Each panel is 75 inches wide? What about height? When I measured again my ceilings are 10 feet but actually it was 119”. I don’t know if you can tell by my picture but my rod has that decorative top part above the rod pole. So I’m thinking I should keep that a few inches from the ceiling and then I have to measure down for the pole and the clips correct? Or should I just leave the rod where it is??? Sorry for all the ?’s! ( BTW heading to some huge lighting place on Thursday that someone suggested)

Yes get the rod up higher....the accent above rod brackets should go just below the ceiling...just order regular drape panels rod pocket style....no need for the tabs or belt...the ring with the clips just clip onto the top of the drape...best to get your rings and clips put them on the rod and than measure from clip to the floor..that is the length you need...get about 30 or so if the rings..it is nice to have a lot when hanging the drapes so you can add more if needed....a 50” panel usually needs about 10 so for a 75” you will want at least 5 more.......you Can order a wand on amazon...you can find them as long as 36”....so great for opening and closing...time for some shut eye...have been home sick with a horrible cold:(

Julie, I’m so sorry you’re not feeling well! You’ve really had a rough time recently - ear and now cold - need to stay well come September! I’m sure you’re so well organized and all the details are going to be just perfect, can’t wait to hear all about it. I know you give little tidbits every once in a while on your threads. I was on a ladder this morning checking out my existing rod and realize it is from Pottery Barn and actually is cast iron black. I know I’m not going to purchase more of their rings because they cost A bundle. From the decorative top to the clip is 6 1/2 inches, so you were right on when you said 112 inches for height. Unless you have any hesitation about using that Rod????? I will use it. Thanks again for all your help. I’m still hoping Kjoy can do a mock up with Marjorie’s light - she’s amazing with photoshop!

Linda, as far as the ring hooks, I have them on my curtains. I got them at Target and they're black. Otherwise, I don't think you'll have any trouble finding them on Amazon. I have also seen the pull wands on Amazon. Good luck. Everything really looking great.

Julie, hope you're feeling a little better today! I've been gone most of the day, so am planning on ordering the curtains tomorrow. As far as Marjorie's light, there is no wood on it. It is a mixture of bronze and polished nickel. What is your opinion on a fixture combining the metals? (my mirror and lamp finishes). Weird having the polished nickel at ceiling while the fan is bronze at ceiling? I'm really having difficulty finding a fixture, but I am ruling out tons! I'm not sold on a drum because I'm thinking too many shades in one room.

My table is 54” octagon, so I really am needing at least a 26” fixture, plus the ceilings are 10’. So many are in that 24 - 25” size. Thank you

Thank you to everyone for all your suggestions regarding light fixtures and curtains! I did find a light I’m very excited about - completely different from what I started/stated I was looking for! Polished nickel, lightens up the room and looks great with my RH lamps. Curtains are chosen, not ordered because HPD said I should rehang my rod before determining length - also they do not suggest going totally 10’ to ceiling - so I’m second guessing height. I did order wands pro-actively thru Amazon ( will try using on guest room curtains).

Yes, had it hung yesterday @ 32” above table - but probably should have measured the 32” from the arms of fixture and not the bottom detail! Love it and will live with it for now. Thoughts??? New drapes should be arriving next week. I sure seem to have trouble getting proper heights:(( thanks for checking in!!!!

Linda the chandelier looks great :)I think the 32” looks good. What height did you have your old fixture at?

The bottom which were the arms were at 36” with no middle bottom detail. This fixture has the middle detail of about 4” below the arms - does that make sense? So it appears to be at the same ht of about 36”

Can you post a picture standing a little farther back getting the whole chandalier/ceiling with your table something like your first pic on this thread.

When I buy art, it is usually a piece I came across when I wasn’t shopping for art....just looking without an intent to buy something. I don’t buy art to “go” in a particular room or in a particular color. For me, art is something I enjoy looking at. I have found art while traveling and at art-and-craft shows and estate sales.
Go ahead and visit art shops, furniture stores which sell art, and Etsy. When you find something you like, buy it. If it looks better in your bedroom than over your sofa, put it in your bedroom.
Spring is a good time for art shows and craft exhibits. Go to a few of them. Let the art speak to you. Then buy it.

The mirror behind your new light fixture is not doing a thing for this space, so sorry. Would the mirror from your bedroom be better here, or maybe no mirror?

Have you tried the green garden stool you now have by the fireplace under the console table, bringing the green closer to the green dining chairs and the new leaf prints above the console. It’s such an eye catching color that spreading it too far apart is jarring.

You like things easy to dust so how about removing the photo frame from the console table and just have the lamp and the round sculpture close together on the left side? Then your new art will be highlighted better by the objects on the table.

And what if you put the family picture on the back dining area wall? Right now it relates to nothing, in the dining area you have the green chairs it can relate to.

This is what I was thinking.

I really do not feel that the family photo is a good choice for a eating area of any kind..they Are a nice choice for family rooms...hallways......entryways....Foyers...I think it works just fine right where it is:)....I guess I look at the room different ..putting all the green in one area doesn’t help give the space cohesiveness.just my take:)

Thank you Ellen and Julie. I really like where are family picture is now - unless someone is walking into our bedroom or purposely looking at it while returning from patio others are not even aware of it. I’m not a fan of family pics (wall size) being in main areas.

All personal preference I guess :) but it can work.

Hey thought I would share..this is my daughter and her fiancé save the date image...they are so darn sweet together..he is over 6’4” tall and she is barely 5’3”!!
