i have a large 1980'd ranch house with oak trim everywhere including floors. trying to update look to more transitional. I was thinking of staining all oak casing and base a walnut color to match my walnut cabinets in new kitchen. I also have massive brick fireplace i was thinking about painting brick. I'd like to keep floors as is to provide contrast. then paint walls a putty color. all this to attract potential buyers. I considered painting oak trim white but window frames are dark brown clad and would look odd or be difficult to paint. Any suggestions? I will post pictures later. Thank you!
