IMO you should match the bedroom floor to the hall floor.

The wood looks easy enough to match, and I think you should do so rather than change woods/stains. You can change the direction of the flooring; it is pretty common in older homes to do so.

Try to have all your wood floors matching.

looks like typical 2" red oak flooring in your photo. easy enough to match. add an oak Transition, and lay the new floor whichever direction feels best with your light.
have you peeked under the carpet? is it just subfloor, or could you be one of the lucky few with hardwood under carpet?
