Where to put steps?

I want to “help” the front of this house we just purchased. Working on the inside so I need to stay really cheap out. I wanted to remove the bushes, pour a sidewalk across the front and put steps to the door but the door is on the very edge of the porch so I’m not sure how to do it. Also want shutters but what do you do about windows that are so close to the door?
