I would hang a piece of art there that centers on the counter, so it's in the kitchen/peninsula area.

Adding some shallow floating shelves will give the wall some depth and help to fill the "emptiness". Art is certainly another option. If you prefer a piece of art, look for something dimensional and textural so it pops of the wall and helps to create some spacial division.

IMO that is not wall art , you have space to have 2 really awesome pieces of art why not go shopping to find them. I have never liked letters on a wall in the space where you can hve actual art.

I think the word you were looking for is "peninsula"--attached to the wall at one end, but you can walk around the other three sides. Geographically, Florida, Korea, and Saudi Arabia are peninsulas.

I think the empty space is a perfect spot for open, floating shelves in raw wood, to match the wood beam of your light fixture.

I speak three languages other than English (not well, unfortunately) and couldn't have come up with the word for peninsula in any of them. It's not the sort of thing that comes up frequently in conversation.

I would look for a piece of art where the "word art" is placed.

Then place the "word art" vertically where the "stringy" art is hung.
