If you avoid using oily polishes or cleaners on your SS appliances, you can easily clean and spot clean many SS surfaces using an alcohol-water spray and a microfiber cloth. Then you can choose your fridge based on features and budget.

Get a white refrigerator and you will have zero problems with cleaning. Zero.

cat_mom, I think I read about that in another thread. Maybe that's the way to go. I could even make it a kitchen-cleaning chore for one of the kids. They seem to like spraying stuff.

susanzone5, one of my sons is a smudger. We currently have an almond fridge, and it's smudgy. Plus I really want SS.

You going to let your CHILD breathe spray chemicals to clean it?

Smudges on white come off with a wet sponge. SS requires chemicals.

My new LG fridge seems to be smudge proof; they call it textured steel. However, its a Signature, not their regular line. I see from Q&As on their regular line that they are not fingerprint/smudge resistant. Also, the SS color seems to have a tinge of gold in it. I have the giant thing only inches from a set of Wolf and Miele appliances and it looks good though.

My older son is 14, and I will make sure he isn't huffing alcohol.

We are getting GE slate appliances in our kitchen; It is smudge proof but not a true stainless and has somewhat green (I think) undertones.

Whirlpool has some smudge-proof, SS refrigerators.

I can't even.

I use the alcohol-water spray mixture often, and aside from my typical sarcastic sense of humor, I'm totally fine.....

Be far more concerned with those suggesting to use dihydrogen monoxide to clean your kitchen. Alcohol pales in comparison.

It’s a FAR more deadlier substance.
