If you are making a meal on your lovely new range, I think you will find having the sink nearer to the fridge will save wear and tear on the body. Having to walk the length of a very large kitchen to wash vegetables every time you go to the fridge will become annoying. I like option 1!

So, to follow on. I would install the gorgeous range as you had planned in picture two but keep the sink as in option one. When you no longer have the wall ovens, move the fridge to the left so when you enter through the doorway next to fridge (assuming it leads to garage or outside) you could have a tidy tucked away spot for phone chargers, mail, etc.

The first layout is a much nicer design. It works better with the space, having the island centered on the L and the range centered on the passageway and the "talls" as bookends. This range might look better with a black counter. The counter materials seem like they might be a bit busy with that backsplash. Also the counters seem to have white backgrounds while the range and cabinets look creamy.

Are you planning on that drop down at the end of the island for dining, not good IMO. The sink and fridge need tobe closer , I think the range and cabinet color do not work together , why not choose an actual color for the range for a bit of fun. IMO neither of these layouts are perfect. Do you have a KD if not get one. Is that a powder room in that bump into the kitchen ? That needs to go IMO.Once my clients and I have come up with what we think is perfect I get my clients to pretend they are making a simple dinner and see if it works. What I see here is a lot of walking to fridge. sink back to range so a rework of the layout is needed.I think I would have kept the DR this will not be a great space to work in with people sitting around that drop down.

The distance between the sink and refrigerator is an issue for me as well.

Nice kitchen, but the sink and refrigerator spacing would be an issues for many. My husband and I generally are in the kitchen together and if one is standing at the stove the person making a salad or... will be walking back and forth.
