Does this look like I'm starting a protest?

I made this little wallhanging this week but it's the back story that is most interesting. My 98 year old mother lives next door, in her senior facility, to a man who is her friend and widower of her best friend. He is an old hippy who had this motto on a ragged paper sign on the wall outside his door. It suddenly disappeared and he was told it looked ratty. He's fuming and spouting free-speech jargon so I made him this replacement. It is sized to fit in the little frame each has for personal items. I am taking it up next trip. I hope he likes it.
