The size and shape is right for the space. I like more color. Allposters has a great selection that come framed and unframed. I got a print of a 1932 Good Housekeeping cover picturing a little girl shelling peas from them that I had framed when I remodeled my kitchen.

It's a dark frame over white bottom of wall. If it's something diy - could Rub n Buff type... ? I like your rug, but for me, I wouldn't bring a lot of rosy-red onto that wall... from a small photo of it, I like paint with mix of yellow/ greens...

I think you just need something lighter and cheerier. Not sure any of us know what you are going to like in art, though!

Take down the vases and see how the art looks. A large food related poster or painting, a little larger than what you have, would work. As suggested, pick colors from the rug.

Art is too personal for anyone but yourself to choose. I would maybe pick a painting of a cow or cows as that is what I feel would look good with your surrounding. I did not mean this in a derogatory way either.

I could add that if the art is so large, lotsa red there might look 'off'. Your current is softer and that's not bad.

I love the vases there. Your flooring is fabulous, btw. In fact the whole space is lovely, but I agree with you about the art...I think it's the size and the heaviness of the frame??
