They are too short. They should be hung close to the ceiling and touch the floor and frame the window like the pic shows below. So your drapes are too short. As to pattern and style, are you looking to make the window your focal point or somewhere else in the room a focal point? That patterned style would draw all the attention to the window.

If you go with them you should hang them so they just touch the floor - an inch or two lower than you have them. I like the pattern with your rug and think they go well with wall color also.

I agree with the other comments. The curtains need to be hung closer to the ceiling and they have to come to the floor. This will create a much more grand feeling in the room. Also, if it were me I would choose a solid color for the drapes or either a wide vertical stripe, tone on tone or maybe a solid with a little bit of sheen to it. Have fun!

Here is a pic showing you the long drapes hung at the right height. In this pic, the windows are the focal point with the dark patterned drapes against the light wall and dark solid rug. The art is also a focal point, but the drapes and window make a larger statement IMO

Agree they are too short...however, don’t despair! Have a seamstress put a dark border at the bottom. Voila!

Also, that light fixture is more suitable for a kitchen than a dining room
