Interesting countertop! What is it? Do you have more pictures of the space?

Is your kitchen open or enclosed by walls? What color are your leaning toward? Since it's not a really oversized kitchen I'd go with an off white with all the movement in the counter and the floor is the tone of wood.

I just completed a physician's office and they wanted a white, but not a stark white so I did the exam room walls with SW Aesthetic White with an accent wall in a different color in each room. It's a very pretty white that is not stark and has a beige undertone which is not creamy nor yellowy vs. pink, blue, green.... which many whites can lean. Otherwise, I'd try a sample of White Dove by BM. Either way, you should always test with a sample can and check the color from AM to PM lights on and off to see if it changes. Whites and grays are very tricky.

If you have a paint color on the wall currently it's best to purchase a couple of white poster boards and cut them in to 4's and tape them around the room with the paint you prefer. Leave a 2" border of white around the edges if your wall is currently not WHITE as in stark white. By having the white border your eye is not competing with the current color on the wall and playing tricks on your brain so to speak. I find this to be the very best way to really help see what it may look like vs. just painting a 3 foot by 3 foot portion on a painted wall and then hope for the best.

Thank you so much for your quick response. Our kitchen has two doors, one leading to the living room and one to the dining room. We were thinking about taking down the walk between the dining room, but decided to leave it up. The house is a split level. The countertop is quartz and the name is "Jardins". I will try to find the name of the company. Today, my husband is in the process of priming the walls white so we can paint. I have brought home many samples and also painted on the walls, until someone suggested to bring home paint samples and tape them together and put them on the wall. We have tried differents muted greens, and light grey colors so far. The colors in the countertop are teal, tan, off white and black swirls.

I take it you won't have a tile backsplash? I'd try to work with the lightest neutral in your counter top for the walls. I'm not seeing green, but again I can't see the space so.....

A photo of the space you are wanting to paint would help Houzzers to better aid you as well if you can post.

Thank you for posting more pictures. I was only able to find one photo of, "Jardins" other than what you show to try to better see the teal you are speaking of. With the white cabinets I'm liking Bev's lighter gray tone above a lot.... yet, I would love to better see this teal tone in the granite which is coming off gray on my computer.

Her Colour Me Happy blog has a wealth of information about working with neutrals and undertones and picking paint colors. It looks like you did a good job picking finishes that work well together. Maybe it’s just my monitor, but your existing finishes look brown and warm- I would not go with cool toned greys for paint in that case.

You said you have been trying some green tones? Is your wish to pull some of the teal you mentioned from the quartz?

What would you think of a cream or light tan for the walls?

I think that is fine if that is what you like. Your cabinetry is light so I went in a different direction after you posted more photos. I'd get a quart of Aesthetic White from Sherwin Williams as it is a white, but has beige undertones and from the office I just did this color in I did love it as I mentioned it was not start at all even under artificial lights and didn't lean blue, pink or green in any single space it was used. Sample some colors. The nice thing about SW is you get a larger can so if you want it a pinch darker you can take your can back up after sampling and ask them to darken by 25% and take it back home and swatch again. That can only be done in larger sample cans not the tiny ones you get from big box stores or it won't reproduce perfectly in to the gallon when you purchase to paint so you know.

If you're thinking of a beige, look at SW Wool Skein. I have the next darker color, Relaxed Khaki, in my master bath and really love the color. I have a lot of similar colors in my Typhoon Bordeaux granite as you do in your quartz.

Wool Skein is very pretty I agree. It depends if you want to lean warm as your counters do have a lot of warmth. You will have to try some samples in order to really see the color you want and check them from AM to PM. I had mentioned Aesthetic White only because it's not stark and the office I just did a fair amount of walls with Aesthetic White is has a true beige undertone so doesn't leant pink, green, blue in any light in a very large office. Another you might look in to is Alabaster by SW along with what katinparise mentions and it's a tad lighter if that is what you seek and it's Alabaster:

Depends one how deep you want to go in to your tans.

It's a very soft white with a slight beige undertone not stark nor overly warm.

"Alabaster WON’T act like white on the small OR the large scale. It will hint toward it, but it really is a softer look. Not quite off-white, but certainly getting there. It has a warmth to it that is grounded by a neutral base so it isn’t overly creamy".

I have quoted a color person I like on line about Alabaster (not my words). It just depends on how light or mid tone you want to go. All in all, you need to get some sample cans and try them on the walls to see what plays best with your cabinet color which I don't know the color of? Then you can decide if you want to go toward a light tan tone or a off white that is a beige undertone. Lighting plays a giant factor in how dark some of the off whites will look such as Alabaster or Aesthetic White.

mybatcat, do you know the color of your cabinets and the maker of your quartz, "Jardins"?

There are so many options. The Relaxed Khaki I have doesn't look anywhere near as dark as the chip because I have eastern light. As Porter said, the only way to find out for sure is to sample. I went through 5 samples in my bathroom and 7 in my bedroom before I found one that works.

Agree with katinparadise..... wish I was as lucky as she as I did 19 samples in my master bath and drove my husband BATTY! Now I want to paint it over in Aesthetic white!!! :(
