I need a Modern design for the outside patio, easy to maintain modern landscape possible japanese garden. I also need someone who can design and build modern cabinets for my master closet.

we need assist assiatance in designing a modern outside patio. I also need to put in a modern custom closet in the master walk-in and also plan to finish the basement sometime soon which I would like to have one or two secret rooms that are essentially a walk in safe.

The time to get design help with the Master Plan was before you built. Your architect should have sited the house for the best views in relationship with your plans for the exterior. And the Landscape Architect could have worked with the Architect if the home to create something special for views and vistas.

Your’re down to Plopping things without a plan now. So, hire a good landscaper to make the best of it that can be made at this late stage. Don’t hire the $1.98 corner standers that appear to have had all too much presence already.

Why the several pics of the staircase? It just looks like a staircase, though it seems too narrow, but hard to tell from the photos. Is there a question about it?

But the staircase is already in? As Sophie said the time for design was before the horse left the barn. Not sure what sort of help you are looking for?

I'm sorry I meant to clarify that we are deciding between having the railing be glass, metal, ect.

I love it, it's so different and not that of the mainstream. It reminds me of homes I saw in Japan.

Check around your area (my wife use to live there) for a local architect or interior designer to help you with completing the design of your home. If they can see it and converse with you about it, you have a better chance of ending up with better results.

I meant the horizontal solid metal railing we originally wanted the horizontal wire one you posted but the designer that works for our builder said kids could get hurt on them if we have them in the future does anyone agree or disagree with this?

I have read / heard of this concern with respect to stairways or deck railings that are horizontal. As a parent (though my children are now adults), I would assume that those horizontal portions are an invitation to a child to climb them. We will likely have that type of stairway in the modern house that we are now planning, but won't have any resident children. When any visit, we plan to keep an eye on them, and gate off the stairways as needed. We do have a current house with this type of railings on a second-story deck, but can easily keep that door locked to restrict access by any visiting children.

We have a five-year-old. She's cautious, but not all of her friends are, nor all of my nieces and nephews, and none of them have a very good ability to judge risk.. We will not do a horizontal railing because it's too easy for kids to climb and fall. (We have a vertical railing last night, and my daughter and I were trying to get a bug on the ceiling just above it. She suggested I climb the railing to reach a bit higher, and I know if I hadn't been there to stop her she would have had it been horizontal. She wasn't try to break the rules, just didn't understand what could happen).

Check with your local jurisdiction and the relevant building code. Some do not permit railings with horizontal members...
