backsplash issues!

I can’t decide on backsplash. Below are pics for help. Need to decide ASAP. I like both. If I go with the porcelain option can I use a biscuit colored grout that matches with my floor. I like a more cream feel. Having a breakdown about it!

I like number 2. On my screen, numbers 1 and 2 look like they have pink undertones.

Dan Mico - I apologize but gut feel is no to the travertine and maybe to the second. (I am NOT a travertine fan so please take that into consideration).

If you are willing to take pictures from further back, I can try to photoshop some for you. Post a picture taken in good light from 'straight on' showing all surfaces (floor, cabinets, countertop, etc.).

Your cabinets, hardware and countertop all look lovely together. Floor is pretty light but seems to look fine with the last option.

Would you think a cream/biscuit grout would work ? It would be the same one on my new floor. The pic 1 and 3 are the same tile and have cream undertones.

The possibilities are all too busy.

What about this. I know it’s sideways

if you want a travertine subway, then it will look like this.

if this is what you want, then look for a good mid tone travertine without the pink hue that some of them can get.

honestly, this early 2000, but it's your kitchen.

Out of your three choices, I like # 2.

i posted a creamy elongated hex, but they have it in this taupe color to match your counters

Beth h. Thanks! What’s the elongated hex, the one on left in pic 1 that you photoshopped, and more creamy arabesque?

Beth has posted some nice possibilities. I have a wood kitchen and I keep some "stuff" on my counters - canister set, breadbox, coffee pot - many keep their counters very clear. I mention this because for my situation I decided I needed to go very simple - cream subway tile. The addition of movement to my backsplash would have been too busy, taken away from my pretty countertop and just is not my style. So, think about how you live - how much backsplash will be seen, how much you want the countertop to be the star and in general whether you lean to simple or more complex in design and style.

    My kitchen:

You can see how anything but simple would have been too much in my case.

    It was also very inexpensive:)

Travertine won't work with your counters; wrong color tones next to the counter. The color on the mosaic is lovely, I would do that or something in another shape in a similar color.

I like the arabesque, but a color closer to the grout color (and, it appears closer to the background color of your counters) would be my vote.

definitely arabesque, or one of the contemporary ones suggested above. no tumbled stone please.

Solid color solid surface. No tile, please.

A few quick options; scale may be off!

    Beth H's first suggestion:

    Home Depot Dove Gray arabesque:

Home Depot taupe gray metro lantern

Home Depot arabesque selene (I wondered how the green undertones would work).

Off to work! If you can find sample tiles which I can easily photoshop (with the tile and grout colors you like), I will be glad to do more later.

Ex: Easy to photoshop and show you how it may look in place:

thanks old bat, I don't care for any of those arabesque choices. certainly not the smaller ones. I like the subway tile you did.

    can you try these?

Hi Beth! I have no idea of scale.

    Here's the hex - #1

I am omitting the second suggestion, due to how it looks.

    #4

Def. a glazed tile. Can you afford to replace the arabesque in 5-7 years? It will be out of style. Go with a subway.

I like oldbat2bes first photo with the cream subway tile.

thanks oldbat (lol,,,that name) the scale is smaller. they are 1-2", approx. I do like the fan shape tiles,,,would look nice in a cream tone or the light gray to match the countertops.
