I've been working on my large cross stitch picture. It's divided into four parts (one large and three small) and the large part is almost done! I thought I could finish it last Sunday, but it has lots of blending filaments which are a royal PITA to work with, and it got the better of me. So...maybe I can finish that section this weekend. Then I'll see if that gets me fired up to keep cross stitching, or if I need to give it a rest again and do something else.

I do plan to go to the Mount Dora quilt show at the end of the month - does that count?

I am slowly clearing out my “sewing room,” downsizing many items, purging, re-organizing, and making it into a dual sewing and crafting area with room and a twin/trundle bed for the rare guests.

That’s a lot to ask of a 12’ x 12’ room with two small closets!

Oh ... I’ll bet you meant sewing? :) I have a several mending projects (Boring!) and I will make the three blocks for this month’s lottery. The rest of my energies will go into the room’s transformation project.

I don't make goals past finishing what I'm working on now. I'm back to quilting this log cabin after having to rip some of it out. I love how the top came out and couldn't leave it the way it was going. It's all from my scrap bins except for the dark fabric on half the blocks and the backing, which I bought at 70 percent off at Joann's in the red tag bin.

Donna, Thumbs up to you for being able to see well enough to do cross-stitch! I have done some in the past, but my eyes were never good enough to make it enjoyable.

Glassquilt, Those great-grands just keep coming, don't they. As soon as I get caught up, another one is on the way! #16 is due in April for us.

I did some cutting of squares for one of the BOMs last night. Hopefully today I can get them sewn together. Since we keep the blocks for our own use, I'm trying to keep each block to somehow represent the month.

Sharon, I sure can’t see as well as I used to! With this project I have more trouble seeing the symbols on the chart than the stitching.

Donna, I used to do a lot of xstitch. If I found the charts and symbols a bit small, I would take them to Staples and have them enlarged, or even do that on my printer, in sections. Sure beats eyestrain.

Feb. goal is to survive the basement work and try to get back to the GGDS' quilts. I am intimidated by the borders.

I didn't accomplish anything in January. Quilting room still packed away from Christmas. I'll just continue my plans from January....try to finish something!
