Where to place the other two pendants on my island?

I have three pendants to hang over my island. Ive hung the middle one already. Not sure where exactly to put the other two. Designer says to place the other two equidistant from the ends of the island, and totally disregard where it lands over the sink. Electrician and contractor say to place the one on the right directly over the sink - or it will always look off, and the one on the left same distance from the middle. These are more for decor as I have enough lighting without them. It’s about a 4 inch difference....

It’s hard to tell how they all fall in relation to the can lights. Is the one up now completely centered both ways over the island?

I agree with the electrician and contractor. I think you should have started by putting the first one in the middle of the sink and then measure the distance from the other end of the island the same, then put the middle one equal distance apart.

Either way, the middle one lands in the middle of the island. Yes it is centered above the island in all directions.

It’s more important they are equal distances, it doesn’t matter one isn’t over the sink.

They will definitely be Equal distant from the middle light. The question is - do I center the side pendants equal distant from the end of the island and the middle light, or place the light on the right over the sink, and the light on the left the same distance - I think I’m not being clear ! Sorry. Not sure how to explain this better.

If you can have the electrician and contractor hold them up to the ceiling for you - that would be great.

doesn't really matter. the one you place on the sink side is going to illuminate it just fine. if you center it on the sink, it's going to be too far off from the island (too close to the edge of countertop)

your pendants are centered on the island. that's going to be the main focus. divide the island into thirds and place them accordingly. leave enough room from the edges.

hard to find an example w/off center sink w/three lights. this was one. the pendants are divided on the island.

or just do two
